Star Wars and Angry Birds

Today we did a Star Wars Angry Birds cake for one of our favorite repeat customers, Christian. If you look through our Kid's Birthday Cake page, you'll see a few with his name on it. I love when the kids get creative with their requests! These characters were super fun to replicate (I may have spent the whole time giggling to myself over how cute they were) and I love getting a chance to improve my painting skills. Super fun!

My mother started decorating cakes 25 years ago. I can remember sitting at the kitchen table watching her make boxes and boxes of royal icing roses. I thought it was the coolest thing ever. So when I was old enough she taught me (and my sister) the basics and that was that.

We started out doing cakes that were pretty but not challenging technically. Over the years our pool of knowledge has grown significantly. We are definitely quick learners.I am constantly looking for that new challenge in cake decorating that will look amazing and teach me something new.
